Consumer Protection (Distance Selling)

The terms and conditions under which we operate can only be varied with the agreement of the client and Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals. In confirming a booking with Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals, you are acknowledging your agreement with the following terms and conditions.

Quotations

All quotations are made with the best intention and any estimates of how long a job will take, and hence the costs, are estimates only. You are liable for the full time that you use the service. If a fixed price for the job has been given, this price may be varied if:

• The Quantity of Goods Has Increased
• The Floors Between the Goods Has Varied
• The Number of People to Assist with the Move Has Varied Without Prior Notification

Work Excluded from the Quote

Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals reserve the right to refuse removal of items from parts of premises which, in the opinion of our driver, constitute a health and safety risk to either herself or himself or other persons.

If a driver concludes that the work cannot be carried out without damage to property or possessions, but you (the client) wish for the work to be undertaken, you take full responsibility for the damage and therefore waive any right to claim against our insurance.

We are a courier and removal company and our drivers are trained to fulfil their job as such. We will not, under any circumstances, remove any items that require plumbing or any other form of professional disconnection. All items you wish us to remove must be disconnected prior to the move.

Payment

Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals are not open to negotiating the price once a move has been completed. Full payment is demanded unless prior discounts have been agreed. European moves will require a 50% deposit, paid no later than 24 hours prior to date of the removal. Any cancellations due to non-payment of this deposit will be subject to a £50 cancellation and administration fee.

Cancellations and Fees

Cancellation rights for consumers last for seven working days, counting from the day after the contract was concluded. If you (the consumer) agree to the service starting before the end of the usual cancellation period your cancellation rights end when the performance of the service starts unless you have signed a waiver of these rights.

If a contract is due to be performed more than eight working days from the date when the contract was concluded and is cancelled there will be a 50% cancellation fee, subject to our discretion. If a contract is due to be performed more than eight working days from the date it was made and is cancelled less than five hours before it is due to commence, then there will be a 75% cancellation fee. If bookings are being moved to another day, the cancellation fee may be wavered at the discretion of Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals.

Parking

You, the client, are responsible for ensuring that we can park legally at each address. Whilst we always endeavour to park legally, if we cannot then it is a condition of our contract that you make an immediate payment to the driver of £60. If a ticket is not received, this payment is immediately refunded to you when the job is completed. If a ticket is received, the deposit will be forfeit. This payment is wholly for the paying of parking charges and not as whole or part payment of the moving charges.

The quote provided is on the assumption that we will be able to park within 20 metres of the pick-up point. If we are unable to do so, we reserve the right to revise our quotation. Our advice is that you obtain a parking dispensation, obtainable from the local authority covering each address.

Route Navigation

All of our vans are fitted with satellite navigation systems, which our drivers follow to get to each destination. If you are aware of a quicker or shorter route, please inform your driver, and we’ll endeavour to follow it. Otherwise, the driver will follow the route provided by the satellite navigation system, and we accept no responsibility for how long the journey takes.

Insurance

Our vans are all comprehensively insured for hire and reward, plus an additional £20,000 goods-in-transit insurance, plus £1,000,000 public liability insurance. In line with the terms of our underwriters, the first £250 (excess charge) of any claim is the customer's responsibility and will be required in advance to initiate the claim process with our insurance company.

Any damage must be reported and verified immediately with the driver, who then provides a claim form. You must notify Blankfields Removals inc Man & Van Removals of any visible loss, damage, or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery, as we accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property after a job is complete, payment is received, and our driver has left the premises.

Weather Conditions

We reserve the right to reschedule any bookings made due to hazardous or unsafe weather conditions. This may come with an additional fee depending on the date of the rescheduled booking
